TBED in West Virginia
West Virginia has an active research and technology community, with particular strengths in energy, biometrics, biotechnology, and chemicals and materials. Companies like MATRIC, Touchstone, and Protea are leading the way, creating jobs and opportunities for West Virginians.
The state has seen strong growth in research at the state’s research universities, particularly Marshall University and West Virginia University, with an increased emphasis on technology transfer and commercialization needed to create new companies and jobs.
Still, an increased emphasis on TBED is needed for WV to compete with neighboring states and offer larger economic opportunities.
